The Excellent Class Program, together with the CSR Division of the Excellent Class at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Trisakti, Fosters Empathy and Concern for Canteen Vendors, Cleaning Staff, and Security Personnel on Campus by Organizing the “Sharing 1000 Sarongs and Prayer Garments” Movement.
The “Sharing 1000 Sarongs and Prayer Garments” movement is a social initiative organized by the Excellent Class Program and the CSR Division of the Excellent Class Committee at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Trisakti. The event took place on September 13, 2024, and was attended by Dra. RR Dyah Astarini, MBA, CMA, as the Head of the Excellent Class Program; Reniati Karnasi, SE, MM, CIFM, as the Secretary of the Excellent Class Program; Fathur Gibran Malik, as the event coordinator; and all members of the CSR Division. The event ran smoothly and successfully.
This initiative reflects the empathy and social responsibility of lecturers and students of the Excellent Class Program, particularly the CSR Committee, toward communities both within and outside Universitas Trisakti by distributing sarongs and prayer garments (mukena).
The program began with the dissemination of informational posters via social media to raise donations from the Trisakti University community. Donations were collected through bank transfers to the fundraising division’s account and were then used to purchase tote bags containing prayer essentials—either a sarong or a mukena. These tote bags were then distributed to the targeted recipients.
The primary aim of the “Sharing 1000 Sarongs and Prayer Garments” movement is to cultivate empathy and compassion among students of the Excellent Class Program toward canteen vendors, cleaning staff, and security personnel at the campus (F Building and Sentul Campus of Universitas Trisakti), as well as the Mizan Amanah Foundation.
By providing practical support in the form of prayer garments, the students hoped to contribute to the recipients’ spiritual needs and alleviate some of their burdens. This initiative also served to strengthen the connection and positive engagement between students and the campus community. By directly interacting and offering assistance to these groups, students aimed to build stronger relationships and foster a greater sense of togetherness within the Universitas Trisakti environment.
